As a third-generation Floridian, I’ve always been at home near the water. I left for a short while to pursue a Journalism degree in Birmingham, Alabama but it wasn’t long before the land-locked landscape and the short winter days began to wear on me and I soon followed the smell of the salt air back to the Sunshine State.

My first job began like many do for those of us in our twenties; it was a guaranteed paycheck. But as luck would have it, the position with US Airways Vacations set the stage for my love of travel. As a copywriter and PR manager I began working with boards of tourism and local theme parks, writing for the in-flight magazine and hosting press junkets — it was a dream come true for a girl from a small beach town. Over time my eyes were opened to the beautiful diversity that exists in our world: the amazing range of flavors we find on the plate, how the spoken word sounds different as it rolls off each tongue and how the sun can look remarkably different as it sets over a new skyline each night.

After having kids, I took my love of travel and turned it into Copyright Creative Services, a freelance copy business. After all, what better place to write about vacations, travel and dining than in the tourism capital of the world — Orlando, Florida!

Since then my work has expanded beyond my hometown and into other industries and other places. I’ve written across a wide range of topics and tackled a host of various writing projects.
